Cause of purple, reddish dots on ear lobe?
For about a year I have had a recurring rash on my ear lobe, mainly my right ear lobe, it turns purplish, like a bruise. It has red and purple dots on it. What causes this? It's not painful and does not itch. It lasts about a week, then disappears and comes back.

Do you have your ears pierced?  I know a women who all of a sudden starting gettin rashes on her ears and it ended up that she was allergic to the metal.  She had never had previous reactions, just developed overtime.

Look up Petichiae, and Telangiectasia. These sound like what you describe, but can have many causes. Try this website. It has pictures.
