Chest pains

I have had chest pains on and off for 15 years. It starts on the right side of my chest all the way into my sholduer and then hurts on both sides. Then it hurts on the left side of my chest. It hurts worst when I lay down but it is constant pain. It hurts for a total of 4 to 5 days and then stops. I have been tested for lung and heart problems and was told everything is fine. I have also been tested for arthritis and was told I didnt have it. I am tired of going to the doctor and they tell me nothing is wrong with me and I know something is not right. Is there any suggestions?

Maybe see a masseur or check with your GP if it may be GERD/Reflux.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There is every possibility that you have acid reflux or GERD or even hiatal hernia. Treatment is a combination of drugs to reduce the acid and lifestyle changes. You will need to take a combination of medications like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole,  lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into and a combination antibiotic tried.
Life style changes that will help include: Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food. Maybe these tips will help you.
Also if these do not then possibility of IBS, Crohn’s, celiac disease etc will have to be looked into. Please consult a gastroenterologist.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I too would check the Acid Reflux suggestion. I have AR and it can make you feel like you're having a heart attack. I have a heart problem as well, so when my AR acts up I have to distinguish it from "real chest pains".

Did they ever consider your GI system?  Take a look at your gallbladder on the right and your stomach and pancreas on the left?  Acid reflux can cause worse chest pain when laying down.
