Chiro Manipulation and Carotid Artery

I was curious how can a spinal manipulaton affect the Carotid Artery.  I went to see a chiropractor and he took down all my history the past few months with my neck and does not want to do anything to me because hes concerned about my problem being something vascular.  He wants me to get a ultrasound of my neck arterys.  He said they sound great through the stetho but wants that done first.  Said Im a touchy case, and theres some bones out of place but hes uncomfortable with my symptoms.

Manipulation of the neck and spine release tension and re-align the bones to give relief to muscles and nerves. Generally speaking, spinal manipulations have nothing to do with the vessels of the neck, but twisting the head to "pop" the neck can have some affect on the muscles of the neck which can effect the vessels.  If the Chiro has bad feelings about some possible condition of the body, it is absolutely worth checking out.  You didn't get into any symptoms you are having that took you to see this doctor, but take his advise and get checked out.  The exam is very easy, isn't painful, and worth it.
