Chronic Fatigue?

For the last 7 years I have been suffering from the following symptoms on a daily basis. Chronic Fatigue, stomach pain, off and on bowel problems, headaches, insomnia, difficulty swallowing, brain fog and just a generally feeling of malaise. These symptoms came on suddenly and in the beginning had me almost to the point of being bed ridden. They have gotten somewhat better of time, but the fatigue has gotten and my stomach hurts every day and I still often have headaches when I wake up in the morning. I have had every blood test know to man and have been to every type of doctor there is. I have been to 2 different gastroenterologists, my general practitioner, an endo, a holistic doctor and a several others. All my test come back normal. I even had all my mercury fillings removed thinking it they may be causing the problems. Before I started feeling bad, I was in pretty good health. I worked out and play several sports, but since I came down with whatever it is I have, I have gained weight(about 40 lbs.) and have gotten into pretty poor physical shape. I am about at my wits end. Thanks for your time.

I dont know if this applies but because of my depression, I have been so fatigue. I mean I can sleep ALL DAY LONG. Im in the bed to the point where my butt and body hurts. I get up for a minute and get back right to it. I have gained so much weight because of it.
I tried taking medicine that boost my metobolism just for my heart to start pounding hard and made me feel funny. And because of that, I ended up in the bed again.
The only thing Ive tried which I swear by is Vitamin b12. My favorite site started selling it and I gave it a try. Love it. Im up all the time now, my kids love it and so do I. I feel like my life is back on track.
It really helps with my depression and mood. And it makes me feel alive. I did some research and B12 vitamin also helps with weightloss. So many obese people are taking b12 shots/injections. I dont need to lose weight...just need the boost. So, I started taking these b12 tablets that melts under your tongue.
My husband also uses it as he is a truck driver and never gets any sleep. We both love it.
B12 is also used for depression and fatigue. Ask your doctors. Doctors give the injections but it cost like 200.00 and up. The pill is more convenient and only about 13.00 at www.JadesProductions.com
Hope this helps.

Your symptoms fit for hepatitis, I would pursue tests to rule out hepatitis. Get a second opinion, liver issues an be very sneaky and hard to get a diagnosis. I'd see a Heptologist since you have tried to figure this out for so long. If you had raised liver enzymes some docs will ignore it if it isn't very high but look into it, it could be the answer you are looking for.
People dont realize you dont have to have a past drug history to have picked it up somewhere so they dont get tested. Especially because you say you had flu ike episode and this has been happening ever since. Test for hep b and c you have nothing to lose, it is a simpe blood test.
Good luck, nothing worse than not getting any answers while your quaity of life gets worse and worse!

Your symptoms sound very similar to mine.  I was sick for about 3 days in bed with the flu and I have never been the same after that....that was about 6 years ago.  I have moderate fatigue daily, dizziness, bowel problems and feel "fluish" almost all the time.  I have had 2 colonoscopies, 2 EGD's, 3 MRI's, a million blood tests and this is what have all come back abnormal:  colonoscopies showed "chronic inflammation", EGDs show "chronic inflammation".  MRI's showed nothing, except a mild disc bulge in my neck, blood tests show positive ana, positive anticardiolipin antibodies, mild (very mild) anemia.  Anyway, all of this is considered "mild" in my doctor's eyes.  I even had a liver blood test come back abnormal, but that also was normal to my doctor.  I've had several doctors and none seem to think that I have anything serious....however, my rheumatologist will treat my symptoms with medication and I am taking dextroamphetamine to help with the fatigue.

I used to play sports also and can't do anything now but walk without getting fatigued.  I'm only 38.

My advice to you is to keep on getting tested and don't give up.  Eventually something will be abnormal because of your symptoms.  They just haven't tested the right thing yet and sometimes blood tests don't show abnormalities until your disease has progressed.  Find a doctor who will treat your symptoms.

Hey, I would ask your gp to do thyroid panel just to rule that out.  I hate to say that you also have some of the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.  Do you have muscle aches or pain?  Most of the time, I just feel achey all over like I have the flu.  Fibromyalgia can cause weight gain as well b/c of the fatigue - constipation comes along with it as does brain fog and headaches.  It took me a long time to be diagnosed b/c at the same time, my thryoid went to **** in a hand basket and I was suffering with severe depression - some of it was situational and some due to thyroid, I think.  All of these things can share symptoms and cross over each other.  I was finally diagnosed with Fibro by a rheumotologist (2, in fact).  I certainly don't know that's what is wrong, but we have alot in common.  Hope all goes well - and good luck to you.

Have you had a hepatic panel done? Have them do a liver function test, maybe something will show up that will give a clue as to what is up. I'd have them test me for hepatitis C, you have a lot of symptoms that can be related to the liver and even if you don't think you have any risk factors for getting Hep C, many people have it and do not have risk factors, were never drug users but you can pick it up in suprising places. Also liver probems can go undiagnosed for long periods of time, it is hard to figure out in many cases. You can have NORMAL liver function tests but still have a liver issue so be persistent.
Liver issues can be hard to diagnose but all of your symptoms rang a bell with me. People are often told their symptoms are from "depression" or some other vague diagnosis and the whole time they really were having a liver problem which can also cause the mental fog you describe, it can be very discouraging trying to get answers. If you drink alcohol, I would strongly recommend stopping all drinking until you get to the bottom of this.

PS.I'd also have my thyroid checked.
good luck to you

Did you take any antibiotics seven years ago?  You sound like what I've been suffering with for almost 2 years now. I took a fluoroquinolone (levaquin, cipro, avelox tequin etc.)
