Chronic Pain

Ive had many different things over the last year happen to me.  Last year, I was told I may have had a stroke-that was ruled out.  But I had trouble speaking...difficulty standing up...the episode lasted about 30 minutes. My knee swelled up for no apparent reason a few months later.  Now Im experiencing many things...
Random attacks of constant burning pain in hips/groin that radiates into my thighs to my knees...and numbness of the butt...coldness.  Both sides...not just one.
*Random aches in my legs and arms (like growing pains). especially my knees and upper arms...stabbing pain but also a cooling feeling radiates, sometimes on my head too with the feeling.
*Tired all the time

Im going nuts...I had 2 MRI's. 1 showed a schwannoma, but they say its not what is causing the pain.  I also has a SMALL cyst found on my thyroid while having the MRI's done.  I have had two injections in my L4/5 to see if that helps....next one will be lower...L3/  They did find a tear in my spine and of course degenerative spine issues, which is normal.

The internet is great but also scary...Im literally going nuts trying to figure it out.

Hey thanks for the comments back....would the issues you talked about be making my arms to my hands always hurt?  Especially the left one?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There is a huge possibility that your initial symptoms were due to mini strokes (even though ruled out) or due to hypoglycemia or due to severe vasovagal attack. Since the problem is now localized in the lower extremity, the possibility of degenerative changes causing nerve compression has to be ruled out by nerve conduction studies. The treatment is to remove the compression. You have to discuss the best treatment option with a neurologist, which can range from medication to physiotherapy to traction, lumbar belts or even surgery.
Alternatively you can visit a chiropractor or a physical therapist and learn some exercises which you can do to relieve the compression.
Also get an assessment of Vit B12, Vit D and PTH hormone and serum calcium level apart from an assessment for diabetes.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
