Complications after bladder test

My mother had a procedure which sounds to me like a cystoscopy 5 years ago.  It caused intense pain to the point where she couldn't get off the bed afterwards and was crying.   Since that day she has been in intense pain, struggles with breathing, her blood pressure keeps soaring (she is currently in hospital as it went to 217 over 108).  She knows she wants to urinate but has to just sit there and wait for it to happen and when it does instead of being a downward stream it sprays all over her legs and bottom.  The doctors won't listen to her that it is something to do with whatever happened when she had the cystoscopy.  They are treating her as if she is just not coping with getting old and has low pain tolerance but she has always had high pain tolerance and never been a complainer.    Do you have any suggestions?

Hi has your mum had her kidneys tested, also has your mum had a bladder scan.
How sad of the doctors to be treating her like this, They should be sorting out what is going on maybe with the mistake they have caused to your mother.
You can get high blood pressure with kidneys.
Also is why your mums urination is impaired maybe due to the urether,?
Also has your mum had any urodynamic tests done?

Your mum needs some real investigations into this. starting with urine tests, scans, bladder and kidneys, and bloods, to start ruling out whats going wrong.
Im sorry i cant be of more help, but feel like i needed to answer this post.
I have had bladder problems since 2005, and are currently under urology for my bladder.
I have had urodynamics, and a cytoscopy, like your mum.
Which give me some discomfort but only for a short time, and 5 years off suffering like your mum has done is to long.
I think you need to be very firm now, because you need some answers now to why your mum as ended up like this.
Take care, and i hope they find out now she is in hospital what is going wrong
Nicola

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and show concern.   I know my mum will be touched to know someone is taking her seriously and not thinking she is just a silly old woman.  I will try to get her to a urologist asap.

I would find a good urologist that will be willing to help your mom and listen to her.I know it is difficult to find a dr that will listen all they want to do is treat you and not listen to your symptoms.I really hope you find some answers.
