UNDIAGNOSED SYMPTOMS EXPERT FORUM

I have been experiencing buzzing and excess ringing in ears for about a week now! My ears also hurt and I also have headaches, nausea, tiredness, and am extremely dizzy.  My left hand also feels weak. I had a MRI 6 months ago and everything came back negative, they found nothing. Previous to that I had a CT scan done 2 years ago and everything normal. I have no family history of brain tumors, and was just wondering if a brain tumor could develop that fast (6 months) and cause those symptoms in that amount of time, please help?

You have had appropriate brain imaging to rule out many of the major neurologic disorders like tumors or masses.

Further testing like hearing tests (looking for things like Meniere's disease) and vestibular evoked myotonic potentials (looking for superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome) can be considered for further evaluation.

An evaluation by a physical therapist and ENT can be considered to look for benign positional vertigo.  You can ask them to perform the Dix-Hallpike maneuver which can confirm the diagnosis.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or with the appropriate specialist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
