The diarrhea could be a side effect/adverse effect of the Augmentin. If it was present prior to use of that medicine, you could have had a gastroenteritis going on and that could explain why you still have an axillary lymph node enlargement. Have you recently had a diet change (added something that you never had previously). Have you increased dairy in your diet? Increased amount of fried foods? If none of the aforementioned things have occurred, you truly need to see a gastroenterologist and probably have a colonoscopy done (he will most likely also order a gluten test, as well as a lactose test be done from blood work). As far as taking Augmentin again, you won't know if it will be effective or resistant without have cultures plated for sensitivities. The easier thing to do would be to have your MD re-prescribe it to you, and if it doesn't help, then you would know that particular bacteria has become resistant to it. I'm sure he/she would not do that though without having another specimen to send for culture and sensitivity.
Sometimes i feel a pain in the axillary lymphnodes but without touching them.
I made another cbc a week later numbers are increasing for leukopenia ,it reached the minimum normal number, for lymphocytes it is decreasing also and reached the maximum normal number.
Still the rbcs microcytic, but developing slowly.
No other lymph nodes are enlarged.
My axillary ones is not painful but they are somewhat swollen,i feel them large under my arm.one doctor said that they are normal, other said they are slightly increased.
If i begun again to use augmentin ,i think it may be not useful as pathogens may developed resistance.
Also what will be the cause of this sever diarrhea for almost 1 week!
In light of the treatment with Augmentin (the combo of Amox and Clav) and yet you still have enlarged axillary lymph nodes, further diagnostics need to be done. Has your CBC been repeated since the antibiotic was completed to see if numbers changed? In this country, Augmentin is given for 10 days for infections, and perhaps that's what you need to insure that the infection is entirely gone. Given that your axillary node is still enlarged, there is surely something going on...whether that is the current infection or something otherwise...it needs to be looked at, unless you have cut yourself while shaving, or received some papercuts, or some other break in your integumentary system. Perhaps an ultrasound of the affected axillary node is needed...is it painful to palpation or just enlarged? Do you have other enlarged lymph glands anywhere (I know you said the cervical (neck) one had resolved, but what about other sites? At any rate, there still needs to be some investigation done as to why your leukocytes are low and your lymph node/s enlarged. Hopefully you are scheduled for a follow up visit!
Also i do not think it is ebv as ebv cause leukocytosis not leukopenia.what is your opinion ?
Throat cultures is not available in my country.however, the ASOT titre was 240 which indicated a strep. Infection.
I begun an amoxicillin clavulanic acid compination therapy for 5 days ,it made my throat better.
No i did not make any ebv test
Were any throat cultures done on you? If not, some should be. Mono typically can present with some of your symptoms. Were you treated with any antibiotics for any of those symptoms? Did they check your blood for mono (EBV titer or monospot test)?
