Crazy Symptoms

Okay, it started in my right foot - felt like it was asleep, then it was my right leg - feels numb, weird to the touch, tingly, and I noticed I can't feel heat - it feels ice cold in a hot bath/shower.  Now, it's going up the whole right side of my body.  Once I was standing and I felt like I was passing-out - leaning forward, but, I didn't.  Help, please!!

Thank you!  I did go to my Doctor and she couldn't figure-it-out even after an xray of my back in case of a nerve or something so she did refer me to a Neurologist so I go tomorrow.  Can it just be stress?!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
What you have is probably “sleeping foot” or “paresthesia”. It is caused by a block in the nerve pathways or arteries. This prevents the electrochemical impulses from reaching the brain. When pressure is exerted on a foot or leg in one position over a long period of time, it can compress arteries in that area. Once the limb is moved, blood returns to the area, which results in the “pins and needles” feeling.
It can also be due to pinched lumbo-sacral spinal nerves or due to peripheral neuropathy as seen in diabetes, hypothyroidism or Lyme’s disease. Vit B12 deficiency is another possibility. Treating these causes will take care of the sensations too.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral to a neurologist if need be.
Take care!

You need to get to a doctor and get a MRI or something.  Don't mess around with that.  If it was just your leg, I'd say it was lumbar.  But it is going up your right side with sensations of losing consciousness - you better get to the doctor ASAP.  Your body is trying to tell you something.
