Dizziness, fainting, nausea?

Over the past few weeks, I randomly have these episodes. I start feeling like the walls are going to close in on me. I feel like I may pass out (hasn't actually happened, I don't think I've ever fainted in my life) and usually have to hold onto something so that I don't fall over. I also feel like I'm going to throw up, and I usually can stop that from happening. I noticed the last time this happened that I start sweating a lot.

I'm 19. My mom has low blood pressure and has had similar experiences before, so maybe this has to do with it.

Perhaps this is unrelated, but I also have been sleeping excessively. I've never been a person who takes naps during the day, but I've been taking at least 2 a day - sometimes just a few hours after I've woken up. I sleep even more than I usually do at night, and this has been affecting my productivity with college work.

Have you ever suffered from depression or an anxiety disorder? These illnesses can often present with severe physical symptoms, such as the ones you have been describing. To start, you may want to try some general lifestyle changes to see if they improve your symptoms. It is really important for everyone, especially those under a great deal of stress, to maintain good nutrition, stay hydrated, and exercise regularly. If that does not seem to help after a couple of weeks, I would say that seeing a doctor should be your next move. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Sounds to me like a variety of situational anxiety / depression symptoms.  Could be a stressful college life, so maybe better pacing and seeking out relaxing / non-stimulating breaks from your routines would help.

Do you do much physical working out?  Bicycling, jogging, brisk walking etc.?  Those could be helpful.  What is your usual blood pressure reading?  Have you had a 'physical' (full checkup) at a doctor's?
