Dizziness, lightheaded, other symptoms...

I was reading a former post from 2005 and the earlier part of 2006 that read exactly like my symptoms and I wanted to add, but it had already closed.  Since 2003 I have been having dizzy spells, which used to be much worse that would come on suddenly and I would feel like the room was spinning.  I also felt the need to rush to the bathroom and with my bowel movement would come the feeling of almost fainting, but I never have.  The only way to make myself feel better would be to sleep, then when waking I would feel as though I was in a fog.  I've been in and out of this fog for almost 4 years now.  I still have spells of lightheadedness, and sometimes the feeling of difficulty taking a deep breath (which on many occassions my doctor has diagnosed as anxiety)  I have had blood tests for hypothyroidism, anemia, hypoglycemia....I have had an EKG, CT Scan and MRI, and there are no apparent problems.  My Ob/Gyn conducts a complete urinalysis annually and it is always normal, also she tests blood sugar levels.  My symptoms also range into the weird...When exercising I don't quite sweat the way I used to, when I reach the point where I would normally break a sweat I SOMETIMES, not always feel a cold sweat, other times I can work out for an hour, sweat normally and feel great.  My symptoms also seem more apparent near my period, I am on the Nuva ring but have only been so for 2 of the last four years.  Could this be hormone related or an intestinal parasite?  Also, I do drink alot of water, but even when I have not I tend to have frequent urination. Any Answers?

Sounds hormonal to me, as women, every day of every month there is a different mix of hormones going on, why not remove the ring for a few months and see how it goes? Also if you want to be sure re: parasites, go to a health food store and get a parasite cleanse and just do it. Also, what about "vertigo", have your doctor's mentioned that to you? Look it up on webmd.com and see if that applies to you. My sister in law had several bad bouts with it in her early 30's, since she had a baby it has been better. Hormones, can't live with them and can't live without them! Good luck!

Thanks for the insight! I thought about the ring but the spells actually started 2 years before I started on the birth control.  But, I wasn't aware of the parasite cleanse, I'll have to try that out.

Hi, I also have had vertigo (the spinning feeling) often.  It is usually caused from an inner ear problem.  I am not a doctor, so you should get it checked out.  If it is an ear thing, there is a series of exercises that help to stop this.  The exercises actually move debris that is inside of the semi-circular canals (in your ear) out of this area and the verigo goes away.  I actually do the exercises regularly to prevent it as I seem to get it often.  The exercises are easy, they involve laying on your back with your head hanging over the edge of the bed.  You then look at the floor on one side for about 10 seconds.  You then move into the sitting position with you head still down and staring at the floor.  Then you slowly bring your head back into the upright position.  You then repeat it with the other side.  Once you do this, it works better if you can sleep with you head more in an upright position.  I was also told that if you have alot of allergies as I do, you are more prone to it.  Good Luck.
