Dizziness After having baby 6 months ago

I have had a really hard time after giving birth to my first baby in Sept.  2 months after having her I had to be admitted into the hospital for gall stones and pancreatitis.  I had my gall removed and since then my pancreas and liver enzymes have been going down.  However, I was told to be anemic,  All my iron levels were low but my overall was low?  13%.  Not exactly sure what that means.  I also was told my cholesterol was fine, but my triglycerides were high.  for two months i have been on a 1200 calorie diet, and not touching fast food to take care of those.  Overall I feel better since the surgery but I have been having this unexplained dizziness.  It is constant.  I feel like my head is detached and I get cloudy if that makes any sense.  I have had that since surgery....I did start iron pills yesterday and was curious how long if it is the anemia does it take for the iron to kick in.  Also, any other explanations for the dizzy feeling?  My anxiety has been ridiculous since the birth too.  And this constant state of fog isn't helping :(

The anaemia can make you feel dizzy if your iron levels are quite low.
It will take a few weeks for the iron to boost up your red blood cells.  It can take a good 3 months or more to get back to a good level.

Why are you eating 1200 calories a day?  Have you been told to do this by your doctor?  This calorie consumption of 1200 per day is far too low.
With your iron levels low, you need to eat the right type of food to help boost your iron levels.

You can eat 1500 calories a day which is more healthy and it will still enable you to lose weight if this is what you are trying to do.

You should be eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, white meats and fish.  Drink lots of fluids, especially water.  If you are dehydrating yourself, you that too can make you feel unwell.  Keep off the processed and sugary and junk foods and fizzy drinks.

It is highly likely that you are dizzy and "foggy" due to your anaemia, lack of nutritious foods and not drinking enough fluids.

Observe your urine - urinate into a clean glass jar and if it looks cloudy, this could indicate a urinary infection.  A dark coloured urine could indicate an infection, but also it would indicate that you are not drinking enough fluids.  2 litres of water a day is recommended, more if you sweat a lot.  The urine should look a light straw colour and be clear.
Having a urinary infection can sometimes cause fogginess.
