Dizziness

Over the last 2 years I have a recurrent problem.  It 1st started in Feb 05 when my heart was beating really fast and i was really dizzy to the point where i felt weak and felt i could harldy walk - i went the docs, had blood tests which came back clear - docs refered my to hav an 24 hour ecg - this also came back clear - specialist said he thought it was vertigo and the reason my heart felt as tho it was beatin fast was just my body trying to correct its own balance and gave me tablets to take - when the course of tablets ran out i was feelin a little better but still not rite - went back to my normal doc - he said i didnt need tablets and just needed to do more exercise!!! by july 05 i was still having slight dizzy spells but not 2 bad , i carried on as normal..... now in march 2006 same thing came back again, i actually fainted, felt really weak and was signed off work for 2 weeks cuz i could hardly walk- my dr has refered me 2 heart specialist again as my heart has been poundin, especially at nite and im finding it hard to sleep, blood test wer ok again and blood pressure ok im back at work but still not feelin rite - my appointment with heart specialist is not til June, im finding it hard carryin on with day to day things, had another attack of dizziness last week when i was drivin, i went back to my normal doc and he just said he cant link my symptoms together and he doesnt think theres nothing seriously wrong with me.....i know there is something wrong with me because im constantly dizzy!!!! just looking for some advice really dont think i can last til JUNE!!

When you say you had a 24 hour ecg , do you mean a holter monitor? If you haven't done that recently, that would be a good choice, as well as a stress ECHO. Get your reg Dr. to do the tests, or call the Cardiologist every day until they get sick of you, and squeeze you in.

I have had several episodes of severe vertigo and had to call an ambulance they were so bad.  I found out that it was a potasium deficiency.  Since taking KDur I have been fine.

Aspartame can cause these symptoms.  I fainted several times, was dizzy constantly, and suffered from a lot of confusion as well.

Try eliminating aspartame (Nutrasweet, Equal, SugarTwin) from your diet for 30-60 days (if this is it you will probably experience relief much sooner).  Since it's in nearly 6,000 products, you have to read labels carefully to find it all.  I thought I had eliminated it, but was still consuming it in breath strips and over-the-counter medications.
