Doc,

None of the symptoms you mentioned earlier apply to me .  I was very surprised to get your response stating that this was due to palpitations.  What else could this mean if not what you described earlier?  Do you think vasculitis is a possibility?  I have all of the symptoms!!!!!!  Doctors don't seem to know alot about vasculitis and they tend to brush me off when I mention it.  This feeling like I am moving and the strong pulse through my body is keeping me up at night.  thanks for your time.

Cath,

Are these your only symptoms?  I am not sure of your diagnosis.  I have never heard of that which you are describing.  What is it you have exactly?  Thanks

Hello and thank you for the reply!  Yes, that is more or less how I feel .  I feel as though my body is shaking or moving and I have had these strange feelings in and around my heart.  I noticed you didn't mention vasculitis.  I believe I have a vascultis but not sure what kind at this point.  I am trying to get docs to look into this.   I have had a fluctuating sed rate and fluctuating ANA with a Petechia rash on arms and legs.  I feel the pulse in my arms and legs as well and I believe the vasculitis is attacking my peripheral nerves as well as other parts of my body.  Do you know if a blood vessel disease like vasculitis would cause the pulsating feeling we discussed earlier along with the shakiness,  Please advise!!!  Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
What you have is palpitations-- an abnormal awareness of the beating of the heart. This can be felt as shakiness throughout the body or feeling of an impulse travelling through the body. Palpitations may be felt if you are overexerted. Chemicals like adrenaline, alcohol, caffeine, cocaine, amphetamines, and other drugs all cause palpitations. Disease (such as hyperthyroidism and pheochromocytoma) or mitral stenosis, panic disorder all cause a feeling of an impulse travelling through the body. Palpitations may be associated with heart problems, anemias and low blood pressure.

Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi lottie1 and mercyg,.Have you any other symptoms? I have IIH/PTC and one of the symptoms is hearing your own heart beat plus pressure in your head, headache, visual problems, and tinnitus (ringing or swossing noise). An MRI and Cat scan will show up negitive if you have  IIh/PTC.You will need a lumber puncture  to find out what the pressure is. It should be between 9-13. Any thing over 20 will give you a diagnoises of IIH.If you think I can help in any way , drop me a line please. Best of luck. Cath278.

Yes I have these symptoms.  Started over 2 years ago.  I am constantly aware of my heartbeat, and feel a pulsing, pounding sensation in my head, and a feeling of pressure inside my head (not a pain).  This never goes away.

I have had several tests including a CT Scan and MRI scan - with no diagnosis.  I have just learned to live with this condition, but it is worrying nevertheless.
