Does anyone know the illness that might be related to a weeklong fever with little improvement?

Over the past week I began having a headache.  Then, one night, I felt bad, popped the thermometer, and found that I was rocking a 102 fever. For the next 5 days, I started taking feve suppressants as well as herbal medications, however nothing has worked. Today is the seventh day and I continue to have these symptoms: fever that isn't there in the morning but rises dangerously high in the afternoons, a productive cough with constant mucous, a headache that causes lightheadedness, and minor body sores and aches.

Any advice or diagnosis would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Chronic productive cough can be allergic, viral or bacterial in origin. Many viral conditions like EBV (glandular fever) behave in this way with recurrent respiratory infections. Pneumonia and chronic bronchitis should be ruled out first. Please consult a doctor to run some tests including blood count, ESR, and chest X-ray.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

You may need to take Ibuprofen for the fever and headaces? Try that!
