Does the involuntary spasming of legs shoulders and head bopping ever go away??

I have been on pregablin for two years and started violently jerking and actually kicked a hole in my bedroom wall in my sleep. My Neurologist changed my script to Lyrica believing that the symptoms would improve however they are not any better. The jerks and spasms exacerbate the pain i have with Ankylosing Spondylitis. painful neck back hip leg foot. excruciating at times. the symptoms get much worse when I have auras caused from migraines. the fast light flashes terminate with a total body jerk. it's exhausting. Ive been off Lyrica for two years and still no improvement.

Your case calls for some fundamental changes, if you want to improve.
There's no conventional effective treatment for AS and involuntary jerking/spasming.
AS has been strongly associated with the HLA-B27 gene (90% of all AS sufferers have it) and also with the Klebsiella bacterium, which closely resembles the HLA-B27 in two particular sequences.
The immune system -hypothesized by many scientists-
produces antibodies against Klebsiella, which may accidentally also go against HLA-B27 (self).
This is the concept of molecular mimicry, as a mechanism of Autoimmune disease.
Now, what to do.
You must experiment with starch intake, to find out what starches you cannot tolerate. Your AS can be dramatically improved up to remission, if you can optimize gut function and eliminate the type of starches, which seem to fuel AS
This requires a lot of detailed work from your part; nothing like taking a pill, lol!
It would take a long time and it cannot be rushed,
otherwise the results will not be accurate.

As far as the spasming goes, you may look into a Ketogenic diet, but I don't recommend you do it on your own. It's best if you find a Holistic or Naturropathic doctor to help you this. It's a tough one to follow, so starting with a modified plan would be the way to go.

A good magnesium supplement like magnesium Threonate, combined with Transdermal magnesium oil,
should help calm down the jerking and spasming and perhaps the migraines as well.
Magnesium relaxes muscles and other tissues.
It also helps with proper nerve function.

Best wishes,
Niko

Hello~I am so sorry you are having these issues.

I would highly suggest you see a good chiropractor. So many of your symptoms point to misaligned vertebrae and pinched nerves in your neck and spine. If this is the case, then no amount of drugs will ever help.

The chiro will take x-rays of your neck and spine, when reading them, he/she will be able to determine what areas need attention. after some adjustments, you should start to feel better.

I hope you are doing better by now. God bless you.
