Dry flushing on face, upper arms, chest, above kneecaps carcinoid?

by Lori637, Nov 22, 2008 07:45AM
This question is directed to Lauren81  or anyone else with flushing on kneecaps, as well as on face and other areas.  Lauren -- you said you had liver tumor and was about to be given OctreoScan for carcinoid. I would like to know the results of that scan.  My flushing began one year ago and is my only symptom so far,  so I'm wondering if all your symptoms started within the first year or just the flushing, and did diarrhea, etc. begin after a couple of years of flushing. All my blood/urine tests and Octreoscan were negative and my doctor, the top expert on carcinoid, said flushing above kneecaps and on elbows (which I also have) is not a symptom of carcinoid, but if they have confirmed that you have carcinoid with the octreoscan or biopsy, I would like to know that. Did your flushing episodes initially last only seconds or minutes, or did they last over 20 minutes from the start?  My doctor said I do not have carcinoid, but I have not been given any other diagnosis, so I'm still worried it's carcinoid especially becauseI have found no mention of bright red flushing on kneecaps on the internet besides yours. I hope your liver surgery went well, and that you get a chance to reply to my question.  Good luck.
