Elbow Pain

1 year ago I had surgery for tennis elbow in my right elbow.  I had suffered with severe pain for 2 years prior to the procedure.  The surgery was not successful and now I have golfers elbow in both my left and right elbow as well as having a calcium deposit on the tendon at the surgery site.  Wha,t if anything can be done for me?

Hi
Thanks for the update!
Normally the doctors do not reply to the same post again. In your case I felt the need and hence am in touch again.
Often proper working style, working without bending wrist, using smooth movements to operate the mouse and key pad, and relaxing the joints of finger, wrist and arm in between helps. A wrist support or arm support too helps and you have computer chairs with support for your spine and arm. In your case the problem may have been there for a long time, but repeated clicking of the mouse could have triggered the pain now. Application of ice pack, anti-inflammatory drugs, wearing wrist braces, stretching and strengthening exercises when the pain subsides and modification of the way you click mouse goes a long way in avoiding further injury and treating the present symptoms. Try these tips. Maybe you should consult an occupational therapist and lean proper use of mouse, key pad and proper positioning of body while using computers. Physiotherapy will go a long way in improving your condition. Other than that the only option if everything fails is joint replacement. Take care!

I have had 2 cortisone injections with no relief.  What is bothering me most is that now I have both golfers and tennis elbow on BOTH elbows. I have tried altering the way that I do things however, with both arms being affected it is very difficult.  I also have to work every day which entails quite a bit of computer work.  I know that this doesn't help because of the repetitive movement, but short of quiting my job, I don't know what else to do.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If surgery has not helped you, then maybe you should go for cortisone injections. Physiotherapy, stretching exercise, anti-inflammatory drugs etc can help to some extent. You can also be helped to a great extent by changing the way you use the elbow.
If nothing helps then you can go for elbow replacement surgery. What can be done can be ascertained by an elbow specialist, hence find one in your area and consult him.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
