Enlarged cervical lymph node

Eight months ago, my  23 year old daughter found an enlarged node beneath her jawline line. At first, she was treated with 3 different antibiotics,no response. An excisional biospy was perfomed-diagnosis-follicullar hyperplasia with paracortial hyperplasis. The node remained large, even grow some. Extensive blood work and chest-abdomen scan revealed nothing. Later, the node regressed  for a short period of time and returned. The doctors decided to remove it this time because it was much harder  to the touch than before.  That biospy revealed the same diagnosis plus a moderate increase in immunoblasts. Within a month of the removal another node has presented its self. The oncologists suggested a PET scan, the Ent says there is no need, that it very common for more to develop. I am worried and confused , there has to be something wrong for this to be happening. Any comments would so appreciated. Thanks.

i'm 22 and going through the same thing. both nodes are hard and painless underneath my jawline on both sides.
i've tried antibiotics and antivirals and allergy medications. the nodes have not decreased and i have an appointment with an ENT surgeon to have them biopsied next week.

i have no other symptoms of lymphoma, but i'm very in tune with my body and this just doesn't feel right. normally my nodes are large and very painful when i'm sick. these feel almost like peanut m&m's.

i'm scared too. let me know if you learn anything new.

I would ask for the PET scan you can never be too safe! I am having the biopsy done on the lymph nodes in my groin. I will let you know what happens with it. My aunt has cancer and they removed it from her arm and told her to come back in three months and now it is all over her body. So like I said you can never be too safe, get her checked. I am not saying FREAK out or STRESS out or anything just to be safe have the PET scan.
