Enlarged things in the back of the neck.

by anonimas, Jul 04, 2009 05:38PM
Like two days ago i noticed two small things in the right side in the back of the neck. They are like one is 1 or 2mm wide and another one is like 4 or maybe five mm. Never noticed them before and noticed just scratching my neck because i got those white things all over my head, don't know the name.. it is something like d... Durf... Dfur... Something like that. So sometimes i am scratching my head when watchiing movie or something. In every place. they are not painful and i almost cant fell nothing when touching them and they are hard. What that could be? Is that dangeruose? Thanks for information if you post. :P

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
What you have is seborrhagic dermatitis or dandruff. This can cause your neck lymph nodes to enlarge. Hence in all probability the swellings are enlarged lymph nodes. Not a cause of concern. However you should treat dandruff as apart from the itch it can cause hair fall. It is not dangerous in itself though. You can add crushed garlic and peppercorn to coconut oil and heat it. Apply it twice in a week at night and keep overnight. There are many anti dandruff shampoos in the market which you can use. Comb your hair well and massage your scalp well. If dandruff persists consult a skin specialist. Once this resolves the lymph nodes will disappear on their own.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

Thanks for information! I was scared of something because those two things just appeared very fastly. By the way, about how much time it takes to threat dandruff and after that to go down for those nodes? And Thank You for posting back.

Hi
Dandruff is stubborn to treatment and may take a month or two. Lymph node swelling will take further month or so to go back to normal or may heal simultaneously.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
