Facial swelling - left side

Since July 2013 I have noticed swelling on the left side of my face.  It is there every day but sometimes it is far worse.  It is always swollen just along the top of my jaw/bottom of my cheek.  I had thyroid cancer 5 years ago and had a complete thyroidectomy.  14 lymph nodes were removed and 3 had cancer.  I was on levoxyl but was switched to synthroid when levoxyl was no longer available.  I noticed the swelling around the time of the med change.  My thyroid Dr. says there is no relation.  I have been to my GP for this issue and she has ordered a CT scan which showed no issues.  I have also been to an ENT that said it was not a blocked salivary gland.  I have noticed that it is worse in the morning if I had alcohol the night before.  I have no pain and am considering just forgetting about it since it doesn't bother me but  I am concerned due to the recent cancer.  The Dr.'s don't seem too worried about it.Can you recommend what type of specialist I should see?

Thank you for your reply. I don't think it's TMJ because I have no pain. I did see a dentist and there is no sign of an absess.

does your jaw bone hurt.  i have TMJ my jaw pops and swells a bit.  but mostly pops and hurts.  it is expensive most insurance want cover it because it is a dental problem.  mine paid some but i paid more.  it probably would have showed upon your CT scan. other thing could be a absessed tooth. they swell a lot.   good luck.andy876
