Fainting Feeling

I can be standing and feeling just fine and then all of a sudden I feel like I'm going to pass-out. My heartbeat speeds up, I get sweaty and shaky and my breathing tends to get shallow. I also feel like I may vomit if i don't sit down quickly enough. Usually, when I feel this coming on, and I sit down quickly enough, the feeling will go away. Any suggestions about what may be causing this? I checked my blood sugar the other day and it was normal. My blood pressure is also mostly normal, with the exception of my diastolic occasionally running a little high. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It could be good ole Menopause. I'm 53, started it at 49. That happen to me a lot. The hormones were missing, I even get sick to my stomach . Something to think about.... at least your not alone...

Hi. Thanks for responding. You asked what I'm usually doing right before I feel "faint"... It's happened on more than one occasion early in the morning when I'm in the shower. I get up at 4:45am and I'm fine when I get up, but when I'm in the shower, I don't even have enough time to wash all the soap off when it starts to happen and I have to jump out and run to the bed and lay down. Within just a few minutes, I'm fine again. I always make sure the water's not too hot. Then, there are times when I'm standing at my med-cart at work and it will start to happen. And once again, if I sit down, the feeling goes away. The other day it happened and I checked my blood pressure and blood sugar and they were both normal. I'm really puzzled. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It could be anxiey or even just a vasovagal reaction to a specific trigger, which can be a bodily function or an external event. The symptoms are very similar.

Is there any kind of pattern to these episodes?  What is happening just before    You feel faint?

This might be useful for you to read up on vasovagal response.

It could be low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) checking it once may not be enough, maybe ask for a sugar test .Are anxious about anything ?.

It sounds like a panic attack. I have had them too long to even mention. Have you seen your doctor?
