Falling apart

Lets start with that I'm a 24 year old non smoking female, previously fairly healthy. Dec 4th I went to the emergency room because i was having chest pain on the left side which was mirrored on the same side on my back, accompanied by some mild shoulder pain that i previously attributed to a tetanus vaccine and a gardasil vaccine that I had gotten from my doctor the week before. I also had some tightness and shortness of breath. The doctor had multiple tubes of blood taken for testing , i had an electrocardiogram, and a chest ex-ray done. I ended up with an atypical chest pain / costochondritis diagnosis. He said that the ex-ray came up fine, and the same with the ekg. Which as he said rules out the possibility of the chest pain stemming from the heart. He also said that the blood tests ruled out that I don't have a blood clot in the lung. However a week from the day I visited the ER i was woken up 45 minutes into sleep by a severe muscle spasm in my chest. I tried to go back to sleep and it happened again. I wound up not going to sleep until almost 4 in the morning. The next night I had another spasm, but not nearly as bad, and then I also had one in my throat as well. Last night I had some tightness in my chest like congestion, and I mildly felt like I was going to have a spasm in my chest, then my throat, but nothing deterred me from falling asleep nor did anything wake me up. I plan on scheduling a visit with my doctor after the holidays, but I was just looking to seek some advice. My mother has been telling me that its stress and anxiety, which I've had alot of lately. About a week or so before that I was treated for muscle spasms in my neck and headaches with dizziness. However it is the spasms in my chest that are bothering me, i had one 3 am yesterday morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Later on yesterday i felt some pain in the middle of my right side, on the rib. The spot feels slightly swollen and tender when i touch it, but It hasn't limited my motion too much unless i lean to that side. I dont know if it in anyway connected to the costochondritis diagnosis because i wasn't experiencing it until yesterday. I've also been experiencing dull aches in my right shoulder and leg. No swelling. As well as my right hip hurting, which it tends to do in the winter, though not to this extent.

I honestly feel like my body is falling apart, and I can't afford to keep going to the ER or even the doctors on the insurance I have. I just need some insight as to what all this could mean. If its just some minor thing i can wait out, or something more serious.

also depression can manifest itself as physical pain but many people think it's just in your head, witch it is but unfortunately it also moves into your body and many people dont realise that

ask you doctor to check for auto immune disorders, and it could be post traumatic stress disorder related but thats only something you and a shrink(or a strong unbiased mind) can figure out. also it could be fibromyalgia wich i was diagnosed with when i was 22, 25 now, male.  unfortunately the criteria for diagnosing fibromyalgia is bull in my opinion, i've been doing massage therapy for a number of years now and to diagnose fibro a doctor will press on i believe 16 different areas of the body and if 11 or more are tender you have fibro but out of the people i've massaged of both genders of all ages i've realized that these areas press on for diagnosing are generally sore in every person i've ever layed my hands on. in reality they tend to be areas known in martial arts as pressure points and also in things like accupunture as points of focus, and in ym own studies they seem to be aggrevated from the stresses of everyday life so i still have to wonder if fibromyalgia is actually what's affecting me and many others or if it's something completely different that the doctors have no idea how to diagnose or treat and use the pressure point scam as an excuse to prescribe meds that sponsor their next summer cruise or just a way of saying "i have no idea whats wrong but im going to give you the security blanket of a doctor's diagnosis rather than let you sit and wonder whats really wrong"  i reccomend you see a massage therapist

I haven't had much chest pain at all since I posted. I would have periods where i'd feel as if I was getting better, but then something else would hurt and freak me out all over again. Most recent ( as of yesterday) i was having horrible prickling pain in my right side. It felt like someone was poking me with a bunch of really sharp needles at the same time, mostly when i was walking around. Sometimes it would be so bad that i'd stop what i was doing. Previously most of my pain was left sided. I go back and forth from being nauseous to starving, and my ears have been plugged off and on for the better part of three months. Now stomach is throbbing or pulsing, on the left, a few inches from the belly button. Its scaring me, and as I was just diagnosed with depression everyone thinks its because of that and brushes it off.

Also I have contact dermatitis on my upper body, and my hands due to not rinsing out a hand washed shirt probably. I also keep getting a feeling in my chest like i'm mildly congested and random feelings like I need to cough. But its not productive at all.

Just when I thought I was getting better, a whole new crop of symptoms. I'm getting so tired of it.

An update. On Dec 30th the left side of my neck started aching and throbbing, and i was convinced that i was having the onset of a stroke.  I had also been feeling some discomfort my upper abdomen, right under my lungs. The next day I spent part of my new years eve in the hospital getting it checked out. They pressed down on my abdomen, and asked me if it hurt when i did it, and I told them that it had been hurting in the past few days, but not when he was pushing on it. A few more questions later and the doctor suggested it could be anxiety/depression related and sent me to a counsellor in the hospital. I was prescribed some ativan and a list of referrals for counselling.

However the discomfort in my abdomen has continued, if many of my other symptoms have eased..  I've been gassy, and my bowel movements smell way more then they have in the past. Sometimes they are a dark greenish tint. Too much info I know. The other night i felt that same area throbbing, and now i'm freaked out all over again. When i've gotten the discomfort in my abdomen,  usually from the right side towards my belly button. I usually just get rid of the gas some how and it gets better. I don't have an appointment with my doctor till jan 28th. And i still have bills from previous visits. All day today, the only time I don't feel that my abdomen is sticking out is when I'm sitting up.

Hi. Do you think that maybe you may have fibromyalgia? It's a diffuse pain disorder. Costochondritis may occur as part of it, I've heard of women going to the ER with fibro when they confused the muscle spasms in their chest with some other serious disorder.  I have fibromyalgia. At one time I thought I was having a gall bladder attack, the pain was so bad and in my right side. I had tests done and it was not the gall bladder. Maybe you should see a rheumatologist, they would also give you a more exact diagnosis if you really do have costochondritis. Also, they are the ones who would treat fibromyalgia if you have it.
