Fatigue and Nausea when I digest food and loss of appetite

I got sick after taking ibuprofen and Vicodin for an AC joint separtion. I was in Mexico when I started with sharp abdominal pain and then Nausea. I only vomited one meal. Then a doctor diagnosed Gastritis from the pills. I stopped talking ibuprofen and was prescribed NEXIUM and Pramagel for the Gastritis. However I kept geeting weaker and the nausea didn't stop. I went back and after tests blood tests, I was diagnosed with Salmonellosis bacteria. I was in the Hospital for 2 days. They treated me with antibiotics and medicine to keep the acids from hurting my stomatch. The doctor also performed and Endoscopy and said I had some inflamation, but nothing more. They also did an ultrasound to check for stones in my liver and Gallbladder I think. Test was negative. After leaving the hospital I was returned home to San Diego. Its been a week now. I still get the nausea and I feel very fatigued. I've lost seven pounds since all this started. I have a loss of appetite and I cant function with normal taks. I'm just resting all day long. I haven't had any votiming or diarrhea, but I feel very sick. I even feel weak when I speak. I have all ready called my insurance to see a gastroenterologist but they gave me an appointment for next week. I don't know if I should wait or go to the ER because I'm not really getting better its all up and down. what should I do?

It's me again, I forgot to say that I'm a 24/Male. I'm normally a very active person, and I always try to eat on a healthy diet. I've never had these complications before.

Are you still taking the Nexium.  I hope so because that will help with stomach acid coming up into the esophicus(SP?)and coat it to prevent inflammation.  Do you have a fever? Take your arm and hold it in front of you, pinch some skin on the top of your forearm near your wrist.  If the skin kind of lingers(stays stuck together) before it lays down then you are dehydrated and need fluids. If it quickly lays flat thenyou are not dehrated, that would be good.  If you can drink you should either get some Gatorade type drink by the gallon or childrens' PEDYLITE(SP?)  Stay away from too much sugar like KOOL-ADE and skip citrus and tomato juices all together. If you feel that you can't stomach that much to drink you should go to the ER atleast for an IV of fluids.Bring all the paperwork with you from the other doctors including your medicine bottles.  You probably feel lethargic because you are either very dehydrated or you need more anti-biotics or treatment.  I wouldn't trust any hospital in Mexico to be as good as the USA hospitals either.  Good luck and when in MEXICO don't drink the water or eat the food again!
