I went for an MRI and ultrasound of my pelvic area and my doctor called me and said that I have a "fatty growth" on my adrenal gland that needed more testing. After speaking with her, I think she used the term "fatty growth" so that I wasn't scared by the word tumor. Is a fatty growth a tumor, or could it be something else?
A fatty growth is just that - fat. I had one under my arm. Doctors don't tend to beat around the bush, in my experience... if it was a tumor, I think she'd have said tumor. That said, I'm not sure what a fatty growth on an adrenal grand involves, so I can't say what she wants to discuss... maybe options for removing it?
