Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Since you are on birth control pills, there is a chance of thrombo-embolism. Please consult a vascular specialist to rule this out. The progress of symptoms do pint towards a deep vein thrombosis or a thrombo-embolic phenomenon.
The other possibility is that you have compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Update - Its been over 3 weeks and I'm still having the same symptoms. At a recent visit to my Rheumatologist I asked about it. Initially she thought some of the anesthesia from my wisdom tooth extraction had leaked into my arm. The she checked my reflexes and was surprised - said they were overactive (clonus/hyper-reflexia). She has ordered an MRI of my cervical spine to see if there is an issue there (like you mentioned). I'll give an update once tht is done.
