Flushing in the face, palms, soles of feet, severe fatigue

by sweetistguy, Apr 25, 2008 05:27PM
Back in February my mom (Age 69) told me she isnt feeling well.  She was feeling weak and fatigued.  We thought its a cold or a flue.  She rested but she didnt get better.  After a few weeks she began having flushing where her face, the middle of her chest, the palms of her hands, and her soles would get extremely hot and she would feel like she is burining and about to pass out.  We went to the her General dr who did blood work which was normal.  Her symptoms continued and she would feel the flushing every morning, noon and night.   One night she felt so bad that we took her to the ER.  They thought is might be her heart and ran a bunch of tests for her heart.   It all ended up normal and she was home feeling the same agian after a few days.  Her primery dr thought it was anxiety and gave her some antianxiety medication which did nothing.  We decided to see a gynocologist thinking it might be hormones.  The gynocologist said that its impossible for her to be having pot menopause.  He wanted her to have an CT scan done or her abdomen.  We did the CT and they found that she has Mestenteritis.   The Dr didnt give her any meds and said that is will get better by itself.  Weeks past and she still was having the sympotoms and they seemed to become more frequent.  We decided to see a GI dr.  He ran a bunch of blook work and took her urine and wanted to do an Octreotide scan to check for carcinoids.   All the results were negative and nothing was found.  He next did a Colonoscopy and Edoscopy and those were normal as well.  He finally said he has no idea whats going on with my mom.   We are at a loss.  Dont know where to turn.  She still get the flushing and is extremely fatigued and tired during the day.  She feels like she has no energy and feel lathargic.  Her face is contaltly red and she feels like her palms and her soles and her mid chest is burning hot.   Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
