Geographic tongue, bad breath, weird taste in mouth, mucus in stool, IBS

I have no idea if these symptoms are related or what they are cause from, but anyways, a couple of years ago I developed what 2 dentists are calling geographic tongue.  I also started having this weird, bad taste in my mouth all of the time.  It's almost a numb-like feeling.  About 6 months ago I started having this weird bad breath.  All of this just started out of the blue.  I have been completely stressing myself out trying to figure out what is wrong.  I was told about 10 years ago that I have IBS.  I have all of the classic IBS symptoms.  I also have noticed lately a lot of mucus in my stool.  Do all of these symptoms sound like anything to you?  I have researched the internet until I've scared myself to death thinking I have all sorts of deadly diseases.  I can't figure out what is wrong with me.  Please, if anyone has any idea what I have please tell me!!  Thanks.

Other than the geographic tongue, I have had the very same symptoms along with alot of stomach discomfort and a pain under the breastbone that feels like a belt is cinching up around my upper adominal (abdominal) area.  The horrid taste that comes and goes is driving me crazy.  It is so bad tasting, it will wake me up out of a sound sleep.  I had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, abdominal and chest xray, blood tests, ultrasound of upper right quadrant and other than having a mild case of diverticulosis, everything came out normal.  My IBS gets very bad, I can go for weeks without moving my bowels and I wonder if the bad taste is connected to the IBS and if it is, why just now?  I have had all the other symptoms for years.. so frustrating.

Follow the breathing techniques (pranayam) described in my other post and you will start to notice benefits.

I am so sorry you are feeling this!  It is a strange sensation!

I think it could be gallstone related.  Have you had a gallbladder, pancreas, liver ultrasound yet?  If you have a cleansing diet of olive oil and lemon juice it could fix the problem . . . .   Lots of Pear juice and apple juice helps too!  Antoehr hting that helps me every attack that sets in with the pain in the ribs is, taking 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar!  Eat lots of Yisraeli salad:   (cucumber, pepper, tomato, olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt to taste.)  If you were to get your gallbladdder out, the chances are high you'll still have gall attacks and the strange symptoms, and diahhrea for life!!!  Not all doctors would tell you this, for they get 10,000 a surgery!   Not bad!

I've gone through it and have the same symptom now.  It comes and goes, and I am 7 weeks pregnant, so who knows why the gallstones act up now . . . .   but I think that if you can drink lots and flush out the gallstones you'll feel so much better.

Just in case you're pregnant, I have a gallstone cleansing recipe:   Pregnancy Gallstone Cleansing
Several days, Lots of apple juice and pear juice and tons of water
Then Drink mix with straw:  1 cup prune juice, 1 tsp. flax oil,  ¼ tbsp Epsom salts, ½ cup water, one serving of physillium husk fiber (likely 4 pills)

After an hour, drink with straw while standing up:
1/4 cup olive oil w/1/4 cup lemon juice
Then you can lie on right side with right leg up to chest for 20 minutes
And will feel the stones sliding down the pipes, so to speak : - )

The next morning, drink again the mix with straw:  1 cup prune juice, 1 tsp. flax oil,  ¼ tbsp Epsom salts, ½ cup water, one serving of physillium husk fiber (likely 4 pills)

My husband has been experiencing the same thing.  It was diagnosed as fatty spots on the liver caused from his cholesterol being too high.  Ask a doctor to have a ultrasound and a ct scan done of the abdomen.

As far as gallbladder disease.  I had mine out almost 16 years ago and I have not had diarrhea everyday since.  I had an adjustment period and it got better.  The fattier the foods you eat the bile is excreted under control of the gallbladder into the stomach and that is what breaks down the fatty foods.  However, once the gallbladder is removed, bile is released in an uncontrollable manner.  Eat low fat foods and it will help you.  Ask a doctor.

Your problem may be a fungus. I had many of the same symptoms about 10 years ago. I lived in an old house with a basement. There was a thick layer of greenish/black mold that grew only on wood, and the central heater was located in the basement. After 6 months in this house I went from very healthy to VERY ill. I had breathing problems, developed sleep apnea, my at rest heart rate was about 110, just walking to the bathroom would send it to 130, loud constant ringing in my ears, tremors, mental confusion, and even started getting PVC's (premature ventricular complexes). We finally moved out of the house and 6 months later the breathing problems and apnea were gone, still suffered from the elevated heart rate, PVC's and ringing in my ears, started having the foul taste, mucus in my stool, and bad breath. I finallly visited a specialist and found out that I had 4 different funguses living in my body, I was prescriped an all natural anti fungal which I had to take for 3 weeks, and I was given a list of things I could'nt eat while fighting the fungus.
Basically anything the body converts to sugars is a no no, as sugars are a fungus fertalizer, the more sugars they get the more they grow, and its the waste they produce that create all the ill effects. So no alcohol, obviously no sugars aka no cookies and cakes, no dairy products, no fermented foods, no pasta,no potatoes, rice does'nt convert to sugars nor do proteins like red meat or fish, and vegies are good also. After 3 weeks on this diet and taking the anti-fungal I was 99% back to normal, the only symptom left were the PVC's. By pure luck, I was talking to my doctor about my PVC's and explaining that when I would squat down my PVC's would get worse, I would also feel pressure in my chest area and my face would turn red, and I also brought up the fact that I had absolutely none of these problems before the mold problem. He laid me down on the exam table and pressed the area between the top of my right hip and my belly button, when he did that i almost jumped off the table, the pain was intense. Turns out my ileocecal valve was inflamed and stuck closed. He pressed again and held the pressure on it for 10 seconds, the whole time i felt the pressure in my chest and my face was bright red. He did this 3 times, and 3 more times each visit. After about a month the pain was gone, and so were my PVC's. It took 2 years from getting sick to getting 100% back to normal, All because fungus was never considered, I was told i was suffering from anxiety, ptsd, it was all in my head, and the famous "have you ever been 35 before?". Bottom line, I did'nt feel like this before that moldy basement, and I kept looking for answers until I found the cure, don't give up, shy of an obvious bullet wound or severed limb, there is a cause for every symptom, no matter how unlikely, and there is also a cure.

Hi Mandabanana:

Can you divulge the name of the anti fungal you're on?

In addition to the anti-fungal, can you share what type of specialist you visited and what tests they ran to confirm the fungal diagnosis?

I was just curious as to what kind of anti-fungal you're on and the type of specialist you visited. I have all of the symptoms that you described. I didn't have any of these problems until I was 7 months pregnant with my son. Ironically, I am living in a house that is 100 years old and has the same green and black mold that you described. I noticed that my symptoms started 7 months after I moved into my house. I appreciate any advice that you could give me. Thanks!!

I was researching about geographic tongue last weekend, and read that some people had it because of dairy allergy.  Starting last Monday I made two simple changes on my diet: started drinking milk without lactose (lactaid) and stopped consuming yogurts.  I am still eating cheese, but I am watching the intake.  Well, I am happy to report that after pretty much my entire life, I finally had a break!  My tongue is 80% better and it is not hurting anymore.  I wish I had tried this earlier.  I am not saying that everybody with geographic tongue has the same dairy allergy, but it may be worth a try for others like me...
