Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
In men the initial site of infection is the bowel. In some cases the Group B streptococcus comes to the urethra from the gut to colonize. This causes urethritis. Having intercourse with a woman having this bacteria in the vagina can also cause the infection to come to urethra of men.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
