HELP!!!

I have had for the last year horrible constipation where i only have a few rabbit size pellets a day. I have extreme bloating where I look like I am six months pregnant. Plus extreme stomach pain that leaves me incapacitated for hours or I have to go to the hospital for some relief from it. My primary care doctor has order xray, ultrasounds and catscans, with no concluding results. I have taken a lot of time off of work to try and figure out what is wrong with me and my doctor seem to think that he should go from least invasive to more invasive. My daughter, who is a naturalist and has studied alternative medicine asked if i had a produced a stool sample, or if the doctor has asked for one. And the answer is NO!!! I understand her logic since it is digestion related. Moreover, she asked if I have cut out certain foods and have gone organic. Yes I have cut out milk for two weeks, no changes, but no i have not gone organic. SHe has also asked me about doing a body pH test, and a probiotic diet. She thinks that all my symptoms are diet related.  Can someone help me with this after a year I dont know what else to do..  Do my symptoms sound like anything..
Thanks

I suffered for a long time with a simular thing after child birth and I can agree with your daughter. I was seen by a lot of people and was hospitalised twise for five days for relief too. I went onto the internet after being told it could be IBS. I read that IBS is such a grey area to doctors and should not try taking any drug medication till I had tried a few simple diet changes. I began to eat an hour after waking. My breakfast consisted of weetabix and milk (a def must with anyone constipated) and a glass of water with a citris fruit, such as lemon, to help me. I did not take any of the eight drugs given and stuck to this very small diet change for a week and I felt a huge difference. I am only telling you as it might be worth testing, after all it is safe and has no dangers. The weetabix helps with constipation and the citris relieves you of any bad toxins in the intestins, as our modern diet very rearly allows us to gain good habbits for detox. Please let me know if you try this and let me know if works for you like it has for me..... Also  when I became lazy with this rotine I became constipated again so I was sure it was not a one off.

You may want to try eating a mess of cooked carrots.  I have IBS and it seems to help me often.
You might also want to research endometriosis when it gets into the bowels.  It can cause a lot of problems with the bowels.
You might also try miralax daily, an over the counter remedy recommended to me by a GI doctor.

My constipation problems began with menopause, and I was tagged with IBS because the GI doctors could not find anything wrong except H Pylori bacterial infection.  I had IBS alternating with constipation and diarrhea in my 20s, but the constipation issues in my 50s were so totally different that I did not believe I was suffering from IBS.  After a 5-year search, I finally found a urogynecologist who diagnosed rectocele and pelvic floor dysfunction.  Unfortunately, these are issues I must live with because treatments related to PFD have not been successful for me, but it may be something you want to have checked since PFD causes bowel problems.  You might also try my special constipation relief recipe:  3 tablespoons of All Bran; 3 tablespoons of applesauce; and 3 tablespoons of prune juice.  It's a winner!

I also have IBS, have had it for years and from time to time it goes in to remission.  the foods to stay away from if you do have IBS are anything caffienated, includng chocolate, dairy products and fried food.  My husband was having some very difficult times with constipation and his doctor told him to take mineral oil.  It worked very well.  Try exercising more and adding fiber to your diet.  Most cereals and breads now are high in fiber and you can take Metemuscle or other high fiber products.  Eat lots of green leafy vegetables and stay way from cheese and foods with cheese in them.  Good luck.

i have the same symptoms and its being goin on for about 6 months now. I don't wanna go to the doctor and pay a bunch of money if they can't do anything.  I was always fit and now after having this stomage problems with these sharp pains and my stool only being like little rabbit poops I really don't know what to do. My stomage looks like im 3 months pregnate. I started to take these digestive pills and eatting yogurt. Im also keeping a log of everything i eat and how often i get these pains so i can kinda find out what might be the problem. i also did an enima which cleaned me out good. I would drink some green tea and have a yogurt in the moring and have smal meals threw out the day dont eat big meals cause that can clog you up.
