HELP

by Amanda934, Oct 23, 2007 06:45PM
I am an 18 year old female who suddenly became very ill 8 months ago. I was very healthy and ran 6 miles a day until suddenly I started having severe chest pain, palpitations, and was constantly getting sick. In the past 8 months I have had 6 bouts of strep, 4 upper respiratory infections, multiple colds, pink eye, mono, and am just finally getting over the stomach flu. I am now a regular at my GP's office, have been to 2 different cardiologists and a rheumatologist. No one can figure out whats wrong with me. The only definitive diagnosis I have gotten is Sinus Tachycardia and possible fibrmyalgia. I am on a beta blocker, naproxen for pain, ranitidine for my stomach, and provigil for adhd.

I have the following symptoms:

Chest Pain
Tachycardia
Mouth ulcers
Frequent sore throats
Frequent urination
Extreme fatigue
Dizziness
Sensitivity to light- rash.
Feeling bad after being out in the sun
Dry/brittle hair
Raynaud’s phenomenon
Joint pain
Muscle pain
Pain when it gets cold
Diarrhea
Nausea
Headaches
Foggy brain- can’t remember things
Frequent low-grade fevers

Blood work up so far has been normal. I didn't have a positive ANA test so lupus has been ruled out. Is there any way this test could be negative and I still have lupus? Does anybody have any idea what this could be? Doctors so far have been baffled.

I would check out the CFIDS Association of America website and take their quiz, "Do you have CFIDS?"

It sounds like it could be Sarcoidosis? what kind of rash do you have? is it on your shins? I know the symthoms you have listed are all common with Sarcoidosis! I feel for you and hope you will soon be well again,

I am sorry but i must agree with Dher537 the first thing I would rule out is HIV and go from there. there is something going on with your immune system for sure.
