dont worry your not positive,,,simple fatigue and fever means nothing, that was prob. a cold!!!
believe me,you would know if you got infected, you would have more issues then that,,,and usualy the fever doesnt pop up for some time after being infected.
have you had swollen lympnodes in the groin?
have you had very dry sore throat for a period of time?have you gotten oral thrush?,,,kinda like white, chalkyness on tongue exct?
do you have many,or any unexplained sores or bruises?
these are just a few of the more domannent symptoms you would experience.
You need to follow the advice of drkindd and get re-tested, if for no other reason to allay your fears. It is difficult to contract HIV, and I am speaking as one who has had a needle stick from an HIV positive patient in an emergency room twice, over ten years ago. I believe the chances of you having this illness are not high at all, but at this point, if you don't get re-tested you will always have doubts in your mind that will interfere with your personal relationships in untold ways. I would get tested after six months have gone by, refrain from sex during that interval, and hope you have learned a lesson here.
Hello,
False negative results may be there when the person gets himself tested before the window period(an interval of three weeks to six months between the time of HIV infection and the production of measurable antibodies to HIV seroconversion).Usually people may show positive results after 30 days but sometimes they may take a bit longer also. Also, ELISA testing alone cannot be used to diagnose HIV, even if the test suggests a high probability that antibody to HIV-1 is present. In the United States, such ELISA results are not reported as "positive" unless confirmed by a Western Blot.
So I would advise you to get western blot test done to confirm the HIV testing.some doctors may even order ELISA after 6 months of window period.
Hope this information helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
