Yes it certainly does seem your IBS is being a pain, I would keep going back to your gp or get a second oppinion and suggest a refferal to the hospital for a colonoscopy. I know they are not exactly nice procedures but it really is nothing to worry about. That way the specialist can get a good look all through your colon and intestines to see if there is anything going on. That was the only way I got answers! If you want to know anything about a colonoscopy feel free to ask me, I have been for one, it may sound embarrassing but really it isnt. But I think you should definately go back to a gp for answers. All the best, Carla.
Symptoms, yes - Feelings of unsatisfing bm's, maybe some constipation mixed w/ some of the other. I'm not at all regular and unfortunatly have not been paying attention to my bms much. I have abdominal pain, left side to right from hips to ribs - all over! My belly is bloated - I mean BIG! My belly does seem to flatten out at bedtime but is bloated again the next morning. When I push on the left side of my ab. just below ribs, it sends a sick feeling all through me. I'm sometimes nauseous and I have been having some chest pain. Tums don't help - mylanta does not help. Food sounds horrible and doesn't taste any better. Before when I had this really bad (When I was diagnosed w/ IBS) I could not get half way through a meal w/o going to the restroom. Starting to feel this way again so I'm almost afraid to eat. The left side pain is moving to my armpit. I've read this is often a sign of IBS. My anxiety levels are through the roof right now and have been for I have a fear of pregnancy. I'm NOT pregnant but you can see how I have all of the "symptoms".
I have IBS aswell as Chron's disease. What are your symptoms at the moment? I expect you have tried fybogel, mebeverine etc, but maybe you could try taking peppermint capsules or drinking peppermint tea, it is good for settling the stomach. It may be best to avoid dairy products or acidic fruit for a while to see if this helps. It may help me understand more about your symptoms knowing what they are like, ie some people have constipation, others the opposite, somehave both alternating....with other symptoms such as cramps, stomach ache, bloating, feeling sick etc.
Hope this helps a little.
