Head Pressure

Constant head pressure in temples, back of head and forehead.  Feels like a band of pressure.  Feels like I have been wearing a tight hat all day long and just took it off.  Should not be described as "headache" because it is more of a pressure feeling.  Ears feel full.  Whistle type tinnitus very loud!  Pressure increases with head tilted forward or hyperextending.  Almost as if head too heavy for neck.  Periodic tingling in scalp, face and extremities.  NO medicine works.  Not advil, muscle relaxers or anything I have tried.  I have had this "headache" for 14 days.  I am still able to work but only because of extreme self discipline.  I feel very confused and lightheaded.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  I do have a neurology appointment next week.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you have head pressure and tinnitus, then you have to rule out TMJ as the cause. High blood pressure, ear infection, blocked Eustachian tube (which connects ear with throat) and hypothyroidism are the other causes. Over use of computers can also cause stiffness of neck and pinched cervical spinal nerves. These in turn can cause pressure headache and may cause tinnitus. Please consult your PCP first. Even at your age high blood pressure is possible. Hope this helps. Take care!
