First of all rest assured that this head pain is due to a brain tumor. It seems like a primary headache like tension headache or cluster headache or occipital neuralgia rather than a secondary head pain due to brain tumor. However,an MRI is a good test to rule out even the least possible chance of brain tumors and you will feel relieved of your apprehensions.
Regarding the other two possibilities, occipital neuralgia is pain originating from the suboccipital area (base) of the skull that often radiates to the back, front, and side of the head, as well as behind the eyesTreatment of occipital neuralgia may involve oral medications like antiinflammatories, localized therapeutic injections, physical therapy, massage, and heat.
A tension headache generally produces a diffuse, usually mild to moderate pain over your head. Many people have the feeling to having a tight band around their head.
I feel that you should consult a neurologist and get yourself evaluated for primary headches or occipital neuralgia which are more likely a diagnosis for your symptoms.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries.
