Headaches, Twitching, and Fatigue.

I am an 18 year old female and I have been having twitching problems for the past 3 years.  At first it started with my hands, and now I don't think I go 10 minutes without something in my body twitching.  Most of the times its little half-second twitches, but about once an hour or so, the twitching is visible.  And sometimes it becomes so bad that I can't do simple tasks like pick up a pencil.  I also feel as though my heart is twitching at times and sometimes my heart seems to race. Sometimes I wake up and my hands are numb or my whole arm is numb.  I use to think it was because I was sleeping on them, but sometimes I can feel them go numb before I go to sleep without me laying on them.  I've also been experiencing daily headaches, and am also lightheaded and fatigued. I'm not really in a location to see a decent doctor, as I am overseas, and I plan on getting this checked up on once I leave in 5 months.  I had some blood work and urine work done and the only thing that was wrong was my protein levels were elevated.  I got them retested, they were still elevated, and then I got them retested and they were normal.  But then again I'm not sure if it was really normal since they said I was in the clear for the first two tests and then they realized it was a mistake. Also for the past few days I've been feeling worse than before and my blood pressure was lower than normal 88/58-90/60.  I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be. If you call around and find a physician who knows about fibro & CFS, chances are you will be better off.

Okay I will schedule a doctors appointment over here again.  Even though the last time I made these complaints they pretty much shrugged me off.  Maybe it will be different since I'm 18 now and will not be going to the pediatrics part.  So I shall see.

Hi I agree with platelet girl. I have some of the same symptoms you have and I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I have just recently started twitching too though. I had a consultation with my doctor about it and they want to do an MRI because he said that MS can cause symptoms that are related to fibro, but also have the twitching involved. Maybe you should add MS to your list of things to google. Just an idea. I hope you find out what it is that is going on, I know how upsetting it can be to turn around and keep hitting brick walls and dead ends. It took me 3 years to finally get a diagnosis because no one knew what was wrong with me. So good luck and keep us updated.

with  blood pressure readings that low I would certainly not hesitate to get to a dr.

Low blood pressure readings like that are also common with CFS.

I would consider getting your thyroid levels checked. If those levels are within normal range, consider making an appointment with a physician who has experience with fibromyalgia and CFS.

If you have any weakness, along with your other symptoms.. defintely consider getting an MRI.
