Heat exhaustion/stroke?

A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot  during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs.  My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes.  It scares me.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You probably have an electrolyte imbalance that is aggravated by exercise. Get serum electrolytes done. Maybe there is a deficiency some where. Also get your blood pressure checked both before and after exercise or when you get hot. Get your thyroid function assessed too.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I had a severe heat stroke when I was 16 yrs.old. I can tell you what to expect, and how to handle it. I almost died from mine and since then I have never been the same. It did something to my immune system. If someone near me gets a cold, I get it four times worse than they do. I've almost died from the flu before too. I too get hot easily and my head starts to pound when I've been in the heat too long.

The way to adapt is keep your hands clean and avoid talking directly to people, especially in stores. I don't know if you are having an issue with catching things more easily now that you have had a heat stroke, but just in case try to avoid germs. Just don't become a germ-a-phobe. Also, stay well hydrated at all times. If you leave the house, take a salty snack and water with you everywhere. As far as the dizziness goes-I have that too. When I go into the heat it does something to my ears and I feel dizzy. You'll have to see a doctor for that one.

Basically, stay out of the sun as much as you can, and be prepared when you do have to go out. I hope I have helped you out even a little. Good luck and feel better.
