Help, am I ok?

I have this rashes since mid March and they itch at night really bad. The rashes look like elevated red bumps, no liquid that could be squeezed out of it. My dermatologist gave me this RETIN-A cream which didn't help, it just makes the rashes big. I just don't think the retin-A is working at all. The location of rashes is on my buttocks and back of my upper legs (lots of them, they start red and turn dark eventually), armpit area, forearm, shoulder and neck area. They don't itch during the day. The older rashes that I got back on March are drying up and scabbing and turned dark but lots of new ones come out. I don't have health insurance so this doctor's bill is killing me. Come to think of it the rashes look like welts once they itch and I scratch them. But after the itchiness gone away they are red bumps rashes that eventually turn dark and scabby. I need help so bad. This thing is so devastating to me. I couldn't sleep when they itch. I have to scratch them because it is just untolerable. Oh, I should tell you also that prior to this rashes, I get this whole body itchiness at night right before I go to bed. Now, it only itch on the area where rashes are located, literally every night. Please help me!

I had a very bad, itchy rash about 2 years ago....the name of it was something like Pitiarysis. I worked in a gym and probably picked something up there.  It took a while to get rid of the rash, but the doctors were able to help. Also, you may want to check for shingles.

Hello just a note you can do thryoid checking that can cause itching.  But if it is this time of year I do not remeber the name of the rash but people can be allergic to the change in the seasons.  When it changes to spring this has happened to me every year and I finally take over the counter claridin starting begining of March to cut down on the itchness and rash.  If it is the same thing I get it is all over the body, strangely enough never on my face.  But I get big red dots that after the itching subsides they start getting darker and dryer the whole process takes weeks to go away.  Try an over the counter anthihistmine see if this works.  I was diagnosed by a peditricain years ago.  I went to a few doctors who didnt know what it was and a friend of the family doctor reccognized it.  There is nothing to do but anthismines and I use a gentle pure oatmeal soap with no additives or perfumes or dyes much more gentle on the body.
