Help I can't live with this anymore.

So last year I had an onset of tingling in my cheeks * on my face after a vacation
One day I had a sore neck then a huge pain that went to the top of my head - called 911
That day I had CT of brain and neck...

Through out the year of 2010 I had seen
3 neurologist
1 rheumatologist
1 oncologist/hematologist
1 infecious disease
1spinal surgeon

Had multiple episodes of terrible pain that went to top of head

The test included
- mri/mra of brain
-mri of neck
-mri of full back
-ct of head ( twice, bad I know )
-spinal tap
-bloodwork - extended

So, none of the mris or scans showed anything abnormal
The bloodwork showed low vit D and b12
Spinal tap showed nothing abnormal as welll...

I still have
-Pain in head
-tingling in body and some shock like pricks
-fatigue
-dull pain in face and lower back

I am only 21 years old and currently pregnant
I would love to live my life normally for me and my baby
I am searchin for an answer noone has been able to help me
These sensations are getting bad again and they come randomly
everyday there is no set possition that makes them worse.

Recently saw my reg doctor who saw a spot on the top of my head
and told me it was a fatty tumor, I saw general surgeon which told me
that it wasnt necessary to remove. PLEASE HELP

One of my neuros suggest another mri to check for sinus thrombosis
and brain sag from possible csf leak but i cant get that untill baby is born

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Low Vit D and Vit B12 can both cause tingling, pain, fatigue etc. Low intrinsic factor in gut that hampers absorption of B12, pernicious anemia, parasites in the gut, diet poor in Vit B12, Crohn;s disease, IBS, or poor metabolism by liver are the causes behind it. Please consult a doctor to rule these out. Take a diet rich in Vit B12 which should include meat and animal products, cheese, such as beef, liver, salmon, cod, and eggs. Take B12 supplements and breakfast cereals fortified with vitamin B12. Finding the cause is important. Deficiency of Vit D can result from several causes such as: inadequate intake, inadequate exposure to sunlight, gut disorders such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, malabsorption syndromes and even gastric bypass that limit its absorption, and impaired conversion of vitamin D into active metabolites such as in liver or kidney disorders. Rarely this is a hereditary disorder.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!

I feel so bad for you.   Being pregnant is not the optimum time to be having all those strange symptoms.  I would write down in a notepad everytime you experience any strange symptoms, the time, date and describe the symptoms themselves.  Then I would show them to your doctor.  As hard as it must be,  I would try very hard to lessen the stress.  Please take care of yourself and your baby by trying hard not to get over-stressed, I truly believe that stress makes everything much worse.  I will be thinking of you and your baby.  Sharon
