Help please! Pain comes and goes

I sometimes have these shooting pains randomly that go through my rectum area. Sometimes I could be doing absolutely nothing and other times I could be actively walking or running. It usually happens when I am about to sit down. I will start to sit down and I get this shooting pain that won't allow me to sit down and almost become paralyzed for a couple of minutes. I usually have to lay down and clench my legs together to with hold the pain. The pain is so severe that I cannot move until it is over. This has happened to me at least 4 times within the year. I am a 20 year old female and sexually active. I haven't been checked out yet since I have no insurance and strapped for cash. (College student) Anyone know what may be the problem? Also I try to burp or flatulence and it helps. The pain is somewhat a gas type feeling.

It probably is gas. You can get gas pains in the strangest places.

Do you have regular bowel movements?If it is gas pains get some gasx to help relieve some of your symptoms.If it doesn't help you need to see a doctor.Take care.

Hey anna -- I get these sharp, paralyzing pains once in a while, and strangely, I get them around that time of the month... it's strange.

Is there any sort of healthcare on your campus you can get? What about visiting Planned Parenthood for a checkup? I think they're pretty reasonable. Make a few calls & look into it...
