Hematoma of breast

Hi, The doctors have me worried. Here is my story: 8 months ago I was in an auto accident, and as a result I suffered from a hematoma on my breast. My breast turned entirely black, and one area had a large lump on it. ER said I had a hematoma. 4 months later my breast was just turning yellow. But the indentations on my nipple and (spelling)arora were still about 1 inch deep. Then a month later the yellow went away, and I was left with a large lump and began going down slowly. Because it was taken so long to go down I went to a Doctor, and he said at my age (63) we just don't heal fast. When I saw him the lump was already only 3/4 inch long. I measure it. A month before that it was 1 1/4 inches long, but in the last two months it has not gone down, but my nipple has come out all the way, only when I raise my arm do I get dimpling. Anyway, he wanted me to have a mamo and ultra sound. The first time I went the radiologist felt that it was to be expected, but 2 months later it had not gone down much, so the new radiologist said that a hematoma would not last this long, and he didn't listen to me when I told him that I had been measuring it, outside of saying, maybe it is scar tissue. But he saw veins being fed into the lump, and I don't know if a hematoma can have veins feeding into it or if scar tissue can. He wanted me to get a core needle biospy, but I fear that it will spread cancer. He felt that it was like the hematoma was disquising a lump, but there was no lump before the accident, and I have been following this lump.

Any information will be appreciate

A hematoma is a bad bruise which in certain areas of the body can take a long time to go away completely.  However, it may be that the lump had nothing to do with the accident but has been found through sheer coincidence and should denfinitly be checked further for your peace of mind if nothing else.

Sometimes, when an injury occurs, it can bring the lump closer to the surface, so even though you didnt feel it before the accident, doesnt mean it wasnt there, does that make any sense?
I would follow the dr's advice and get the biopsy done, if your worried about it spreading the cancer, what happens if it's not done? it's only going to get worse!!!
