Hormonal

I am a 37 year old female It seems like I have only 1 - 1/2 good weeks out of the month, with either one or a combination of the following symptoms
Tiredness, Fatigue sometime extreme, foggy head, depression, mood swings anxiety, worry, headaches  and pain. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, GERDS. I am slightly overweight weighing 135 at 5’2” but not obese within the past 3 months started to see a personal trainer. I am also on a wide variety of different meds.

I know that some of my ailments are symptoms of the fibro but it really does seem to be in conjunction with my periods, it is like clockwork and the majority starts within days of me ovulating  and then the day I get my period I feel GREAT. This is really starting to affect me even in my job, at times its like I am a different person . Could this be some type of hormone imbalance?

i was just curious as to what test they gave you to confirm fibro. i have read that there is no specific test for that but they dont list any kind of test at all. is it just by questioning? i would say before you go trapsing around to all those drs, if this happens specifically around/during your period stay w/the gyno and make them find or rule out anything to do w/that area. if they have run all the lab test and it comes out fine do a laparscopy. i have the same period issue with a whole lot of other symptoms and had to quit my job. after 19 yrs of being misdiagnosed by many drs (neuropathy, colitis, pid, fibroids etc all of which i dont have) i finally got a correct diagnosis after a second laparscopy. if your dr wont do it change them get a dr who is willing to listen and not dismiss you or your symptoms and is investigative. question the office when you call about the dr. is your pain in specific areas or all over? i meet a woman w/fibro and she couldnt even be touched anywhere. if all that comes out good then take other routes. cts in my opinion are useless and ultrasounds dont always catch everything the only way is to physically go in and look. in my case they found that my appendix is on top of my uterus and attached to my ovary, tube, bladder, and bowel w/ endo and my 3 cts came out as my appendix being fine and showing cysts and fibroids. by no means am i saying that you dont have those other conditions or suggesting you have mine, you may have endometriosis. best of luck to you and i hope you find answers soon. please keep us posted

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Your symptoms could be due to menopause or pemenopause or due to hormonal imbalance of PCOD, anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or due to kidney or liver problems. Another possibility is sleep disturbances (like sleep apnea, imbalance of rapid eye and non rapid eye movement sleep etc.). You may sleep your customary 7-8 hours and yet feel fatigued. You need sleep studies to rule this out. Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, low Vit b12, low iron, low calcium, sodium and potassium. Hyperthyroidism too causes increased sweating and tiredness.   Postviral fatigue syndrome is another possibility. Persisting EBV infection or mono can also be the cause. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.
Take care!
