How to treat an hard rash on my face, and define type of dermititis.

I am a 62 yr. old woman with  a small dark and scrape type, (like a knee scrape), DRY PATCH, does NOT itch or leak, above my upper lip and NEVER goes away.  Not serious, just aggravating, and ugly.  What form of dermatitis is it?  How does one treat it when medicated cortizone or moisturizers do NOT work?  I've been using an emery board to reduce the hard, unsightly, rash. (does not bleed).

Hello~First, have you been checked for diabetes? The fact that it won't heal could be an indicator of a blood sugar disorder.

Also, please don't use an emery board on it, this could easily cause an infection even though it doesn't bleed. I would see a dermatologist or at least ask your pharmacist what options there are to help.

I hope it is better by now. God bless you.
