I am a medical mystery!

I am a almost 46 year old female that put on 28 lbs in 6 weeks this summer.  It was not my eating, drinking etc.  I very rarely drank and eat pretty healthy.   The Dr. said that my triglycerides was 299 and with my hip rational with that I had metabolic syndrome.   I was put on Metformin once a day and then something for the triglycerides.  I had to stop taking both because I ended up getting pancreatis.  My liapse was at 740 and amaylase was at 245.   I went on a clear liquid diet and they came down.   Anything I ate would bring it back up.   The dr. put a stint in and by the time I was in recovery, I was in horrible pain.  They gave me a shot and sent me out the door.  Next day I ended up in emergency room and they told me nothing was wrong and could doing nothing for the pain.  (they thought I was drug seeking because I refused to do toradol because of me only have kidney because I gave the other one to my mom)  I ended up going back the next night same thing.  I could not breath, lay on my back, and was basically curled up in a ball.   A different dr. ordered a ct and they found that I was in full blown pancreaitits, I had small bowel imflamation, where the stint was put in was inflamed and I was not getting enough air into my lower right lung.  With all this, my ast and alt started going up.  They are now at 61 and 95.  (went up 30 points in a week.  I do taken vicoden 4 times a day for fibromyeglia, bulging disk, lower, mid and neck.  I have a high RA (76) factor but no sign of RA.    I have unexplained edema, take triam/hctz, celexa for fibro, lisinprol for blood pressure,  lunesta for insomnia,  and prolesec for my high adle hernia.   I have taken all these same drugs for 4 years at least.  I should also add that I am allerigic to most antibiotics, darvocet. morphine.  I break out in rashes from these drugs.   I also have a inter stem for my bladder because my bladder muscle died.  I say that this is all auto immune.  I am going nuts because I am not the person I used to be.   I do not drink beer or anything like that any longer.  I have not had a drink since labor day weekend when I found out I had this.   CT scans show normal liver.

Thanks, for your replay.  My creatine and bun are fine.  My thyroid is fine. (they check that all the time, I had a beign tumor on it and only have 1/3 of it.) I have no CHF.  My potassium is fine.   I have been on celexa for yours 40mg.  When they did the 6 cat scans, they saw nothing on it for cancer.  On Monday, they are testing again for Lupus,  Vit. D,  Lymes, and a whole bunch of other things.   I have no gallbadder, appendix, female parts.  And I want to do is sleep.

I am going crazy.

Did they check you for cancer (they should with any unexplained large fluctuation in weight).  You mentioned edema- did they check your kidney function of your remaining kidney?   Did they check to make sure you are not suffering from congestive heart failure (can cause edema)?

I see you are on a non-potassium sparing diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide).  Are they regularly checking your potassium to be sure it has not gone too low?

Did they make sure your thyroid was not hypofunctioning (source of weight gain)?

You mentioned celexa for your fibro- if you started that this summer, that can be a major source of weight gain (experience).  I think I gained about 35 pounds when I was on that one.
