I froze the skin on my back with an ice pack.

I think I may have pulled a muscle in my lower back from heavy lifting.  I have been putting ice on it when I can to help aleviate the swelling.  Well I fell asleep last night with an ice pack on at much to my surprise amazement, I froze the skin in that area.  I woke up thinking WOW my back feels better because it was numb.  When I reached around to feel it, I thought I had something stuck to it.  It felt kinda like wax.  I looked in the mirror and freaked out.  I took a wet washcloth and applied it to the area until it thawed out.  When I woke up this morning the skin in that area looked liek someone had thrown hot grease on it.  I've been putting aloe vera on it but looking for help to see if anyone else has had this same misfortune.......Not sure if i need to see a doc or not????

have you ever heard of freezer burn you may have it did the pack open in any way or leak if so then yes see a doctor right away due to possible chemical burn but otherwise you are fine a little advice next time inter change hot and cold and wrap a towel around the cold so it is not in direct contact with your skin.

You may actually have frost bite there. I'd see a doc.
