I get really bad hot sweats then severe chills

I have no idea what is going on with me.. I am going on 43 yrs old and for the last approximately two weeks now i've been getting severe sweats ( i mean i can feel even my scalp sweating) and it gets so bad i can't stand it, then not long after i get severe chills. Been checking my temp and i've been staying between 37.8 and 38.1 so there's no fever..Had a really bad sore throat for about a week and bad headaches. The sore throat and headache went away but i the sweating is getting worse and the chills, Happens mostly at nighttime.. Went to see dr and he just shrugged it off and said it was nothing.. What the hell is going on with me? I've been checked for premenopause and i'm told "no" and that i'm too young.. SO WHAT IS IT THEN.. it's driving me nuts.. I also have mild hypoglycemia but my sugar levels are normal. Anybody have any ideas???

Hello,
Allergic rhinitis can be one of the causes of night sweats but many other causes are also there. Anxiety and stress are also important causes of night sweats.

Infections like sinusitis, pharyngitis, or other upper respiratory infections are an important cause of night sweats. Other than that perimenopausal women often experience night sweats. How old are you? Perimenopause is defined as the transitional period from normal menstrual periods to no periods at all. The transition can, and usually does, take up to ten years. It can begin at around 40 but in some women can be found in 30’s also.

Other causes include tuberculosis, bacterial infections, abscesses, osteomyelitis, hormone disorders like carcinoid syndrome and hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) and some neurologic conditions like strokes, autonomic neuropathy. Medications like aspirin, acetaminophen, niacin and tamoxifen can sometimes cause night sweats.

Keeping the bedroom cool can help with night sweats. Also, keeping ice water and a fan by the bed will help ease any episodes you get. Exercise can help with night sweats as well. Exercise raises endorphin levels, aids the hypothalamus, and decreases LH and FSH - all of which helps you avoid night sweats. Try to be stress and anxiety free before going to bed.

In case the symptoms worsen then pls get your thyroid hormones evaluated and consult a physician.Pls take a second opinion from a gynecologist about perimenopause also.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
