I have a high EBV test result and trerrible facial swelling and painful headache

Hi,

I have been sick with a sore throat, ear ache and low fever three weeks ago for about two weeks. That went but I not have terrible headaches at the front of my head that make me dizzy and I cant do anything. At the same time my face is also swollen from my nose upwards.

I got a 600 (normal 40) on an EBV blood test and I was exhausted like when I had mono in the past but this was mainly for the first two weeks. I cant even lie down beacuse I feel in my head a lot of tension and find it very hard to fall asleep.

No doctor seems to know what it is other than EBV or how to treat it. I read a lot about the EBV but the symptoms dont mention headaches.

If anyone could shed some light on the fact about my terrible headaches and how to get rid of them I would be so greateful. I am now living on something a lot stronger than asprin just to take away the pain temporarily.

Trust me on this one. I have CFS and you want to do everything you can to get rid of the EBV because you do not want to feel this way the rest of your life.

I would see a Naturopathic physician right away. Consider googling their name first and make sure they have a good record. Google "Naturopathic physicians board" + the name of the state you live in. I believe they a homeopathic remedy to help get rid of the virus.. it is called Gallium Heel, if I remember right.

Get some rest... drink lots of fluid and see a Naturopath physician right away.

Well i live in a place with alot of pulluion - Phoenix.

I always have sinus pressure due to allergies to the air. Now, when i raise elevation and come down really fast, IE planes and mountains, sometimes a blood vessle in my sinus will blow and i will blead into it for like 2 days. It gets worse and worse. Even one for 2 weeks. Until it finds a way out, and them you can imagine...

Blood and instant freedom from it. If you have a stuff nose, and went up and down, maybe...

again, i dont know anything...

Don't know how you are feeling a year later.  Just happened to come across your post.  I have a score of 2833 on my EBV, through the roof my dr. said!  His practice does bother regular but mostly complimentary medicine.  He gave me a great multi vitamin, 600mg of Omega 3 2x day, Olive Leaf Extract pills 150 mg 2X day.  My health has improved.  I would suggest seeing a Complimentary dr.  Good Luck & Good Health.

I was diagnosed with Epstein 2 years ago and must say I find all the same symptoms. Its terrible. I have found that amino acids( Lysine) seem to have helped the best at one time. I think this virus is becoming much more noticable. I hope doctors come up with some better diagnosis process for people with these symptoms. Antiviral medications have also been some relief.
