I need help

I am hoping someone can help. I would be going to the doctor but my husband recently lost his job so we have no insurance. My kids are having problems so we are using any extra money for them. Thank you for any help.

I started having a low grade fever a couple weeks ago (99.1-99.7) I wasn't too concerned with it since it was only at night. I started feeling very sick to my stomach a couple days ago. Now I have started getting numb feeling in my right arm and hand, and my face. I have a headache in the soft spot on the back of my head above my neck. I don't know what it could be. I read the recent post's but was hoping someone might have something new to add.

Thank you
Megon

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Well SurgiMenopause is right; you must seek medical help as no one can give a confirmed diagnosis on net. Only possibilities can be suggested which can be totally off the mark or be a perfect fit.
The various possibilities in your case can be pinched cervical spinal nerve, TIA or mini stroke, heart attack, angina, thoracic outlet syndrome, severe acidity and GERD.
Sharp stomach pains in the epigastrium (upper abdomen, if this is where you have pain) in the presence numbness and weakness should raise the suspicion of heart problems. This needs to be ruled out by a 12 lead EKG ASAP.
Acidity and GERD too can cause blackouts which can give a feeling of numbness in the upper body.
Another possibility is thoracic outlet syndrome, which happens due to compression of nerves or blood vessels, or both between the base of the neck and the armpit (thoracic outlet).
An embolus in a major blood vessel too can cause the numbness.
Try and get whatever medical help you can get—ER can be an option, as this can be serious. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Please, go to the ER.  They cannot refuse to take you, regardless of your ability to pay.  They can tell you how to apply for financial aid, etc..  Your kids will appreciate the help of their mom getting the help she needs, if indeed the Lord wills the doctors to be able to help you.

A number of your symptoms remind me of a relative of mine when they said he had a tia or mini-stroke.  They put him on medication to prevent a stroke.  The fever may be the sign of an infection, and the pain at the back of the head- I wonder about some sort of meningitis.  But I'm just a lay person who definitely cannot diagnose anything and even a doctor can't diagnose you over the internet!  You need in-person professional help.   Don't let finances keep you from getting help.  I hope you have already made the decision to go in and can give us an update.  But if not, don't delay, your life is more worth than money.
