I need to know whats wrong with me!

Ok. I have alot of medical issues going on right now. Every time I go to the ER they wont do anything for me and I dont have insurance so I cant go to a normal doctor. Im going to explain my issues and if anyone can help me figure out whats wrong it would be greatly appreciated. My main problem is my neck/throat. I believe it may be my thyroid? But anyway, the pain is mainly in the middle of my neck and on each side. Its very swollen, my tonsils are swollen as well. I have weird crawling sensations and sharp and dull pain. Also my windpipe/throat both feel very raw. I also have trouble breathing. This has been steadily getting worse for the past 5-6 months. Im experiencing chest pain, and stinging pain in my arms and legs. Also it may not be related but im having pain on my right side of my abdominal area. I think this is several different things wrong with me.   Any one have any idea what this could be?

Thank you for your reply, doctornee medical. Next time I get a chance to see a doctor I will make sure to mention that they should check to see if its exacerbation of the GERD.  I just googled that and it does sound alot like whats going on with me right now. Also I will make the life style changes you mentioned and see if they help me. I hope they do. Thanks for your help :)

Thyroid could be one thing. I would go to see an endocrinologist to have your thyroid looked at and blood levels taken. The endo probably will do a metabolic panel and check for any infection if he or she is thorough. The longer you let this go the more areas it will effect the body.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms (sensitive and swollen throat, trouble breathing, chest pain and pain in right side of abdomen) could be exacerbation of the GERD. Treatment is a combination of drugs to reduce the acid and lifestyle changes. You will need to take a combination of medications like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole,  lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried.
Life style changes that will help include: Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Avoid lying down for least 2 hours after food. Maybe these tips will help you.
If they do not, then you will have to consult an ENT and see what is wrong.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
