Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
IBS can cause all your gut related symptoms. However PTSD can also. Medications taken for bipolar disorder can also cause gut symptoms. Hence it is important to find the exact cause of your symptoms. Other possibilities are food intolerance, so log in what in eat and correlate with your symptoms.
Other possibilities are Crohn's, and celiac disease.
Take care!

I think you should look into lyme disease. Lyme disease can cause IBS, mood problems like bi-polar disorder, depression and anxiety. Migraines, sweating and fainting can also be a symptom. Have you ever had problems with rashes on your body, muscle pain, sharp stabbing pains anywhere in the body, joint pain, neck pain, unexplained fatigue, insomnia or anything else you can think of. My husband has severe IBS along with night sweats, joint pain, restless leg syndrome, syatic nerve problems, muscle pain, feet pain, hand pain, headaches, neck pain and many more. He was diagnosed with a positive test for lyme disease. My son and I are also diagnosed with lyme disease. It can effect everyone differently. Our lyme literate doctor told us that if you suffer with IBS and are very emotional then it is a co-infection called Bartonella that we have. Look up bartonella connection to IBS and Bi-polar disorder and see what you get. Having lyme can really mess up your cognitive functions and emotional state. Take it from me because the three of us have it and our mental and emotional state has been severely compromised. If you are interested to find out more you can contact me or look at my journal pages. Best of luck!
